Murder suspect surrenders in Bulacan manhunt

A 37-year-old man facing a murder charge voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Baliwag on May 12, 2026 following the implementation of a warrant of arrest.

Personnel of the Baliwag City Police Station facilitated the surrender through its tracker team after sustained intelligence monitoring and continuous coordination with the suspect’s family and close contacts. Authorities said the accused was allegedly linked to a local criminal group operating in Bulacan.

The warrant of arrest was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 9 in Malolos, Bulacan on January 6, 2026 in connection with a murder case involving an incident that occurred in Baliwag in June 2025. No bail was recommended for the case.

Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. commended the operating unit for the successful operation and emphasized the importance of cooperation and adherence to the law.

The accused was placed under the custody of the Baliwag City Police Station for documentation and proper legal procedures.

The Philippine National Police said the operation forms part of its continuing intensified law enforcement and intelligence-driven initiatives aimed at strengthening public safety and community security.
