Beginning today, retrieval operations will officially commence in the ongoing response efforts in Balibago following the transition from search and rescue operations, authorities announced during the Unified Command System meeting led by Carmelo ‘Jon’ Lazatin II at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

During the meeting, officials discussed the shift to Retrieval Operations following thorough assessment and continuous coordination among agencies on the ground.

Authorities also emphasized the importance of carrying out the next stages of the operation in a careful, systematic, and dignified manner as a sign of respect for the victims of the tragedy and their families.

The Angeles City Government likewise extended its condolences and prayers to the bereaved families and those affected by the incident.

Despite the difficult situation, the local government assured the public that it remains focused on maintaining proper coordination, providing support, and ensuring continuous assistance throughout the operation.

Officials also appealed for the public’s prayers and understanding as operations continue in the area.
