SM Supermalls strengthens support for cyclists with bike-friendly facilities nationwide

SM Supermalls is expanding its support for active mobility by enhancing bike-friendly facilities and promoting cycling initiatives across its malls nationwide.

As more Filipinos turn to cycling for commuting, errands, and recreation, SM continues to provide infrastructure that makes biking more convenient and accessible. These include dedicated bike lanes, bike parking areas, cyclist-friendly entrances, and repair stations designed to support riders on the go.

According to SM, all its malls are equipped with cycling facilities, including 823 bike parking areas with more than 6,400 parking slots and 92 bike repair stations nationwide.

“Whether it’s a quick stop during a weekday commute or a longer visit during a weekend ride, SM malls provide a convenient hub for riders looking to recharge and relax,” said Mina Kahn, SM Division Head and Assistant Vice President for Transportation Management.

In celebration of World Bicycle Day, SM Supermalls will hold its annual Pedal Power event on June 6, bringing together cycling communities through bike rides, clinics, and learning activities that promote active mobility and sustainable transportation.

Participating malls include SM City Clark, SM City Marikina, SM City Masinag, SM City San Mateo, SM Center Antipolo Downtown, SM City San Lazaro, SM City Olongapo Central, SM City Rosario, SM City Lucena, SM Seaside City Cebu, and The Podium.

The initiative forms part of the SM Green Movement, which advocates sustainable, accessible, and community-friendly spaces while encouraging healthier and environmentally responsible transportation options.
