Qualified college students from Angeles City’s barangays received educational assistance under the Bagong Pilipinas Barangay Scholars–Educational Assistance Program 2026 during a distribution ceremony held at the Angeles City Legislative Building on June 18.
The activity was led by Mayor Carmelo ‘Jon’ Lazatin II and Liga ng mga Barangay President Danilo M. Nacu.

Under the national government program, each barangay may recommend five qualified college students to receive assistance for tuition, school supplies, books, transportation, and other educational expenses. Priority is given to incoming fourth-year students from low-income families, those at risk of dropping out, and households without a college graduate.
In his message, Lazatin emphasized that education remains the most valuable legacy for the youth and encouraged beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity provided by the government. He also underscored the importance of discipline, patriotism, and faith in building a better future.
