Pampanga First District Representative. Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. highlighted his accomplishments during his first year in office, emphasizing his commitment to delivering “serbisyong may puso” to his constituents.
As a legislator, Cong Pogi has filed 60 House bills and 68 resolutions covering environmental protection, social welfare, health, education, labor, animal welfare, and public safety. He also maintained perfect attendance in all regular sessions of the 20th Congress.
He reported that 7,527 residents benefited from the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita (AKAP) program, while 8,649 individuals received Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).
During the oil price surge, Lazatin distributed five kilos of rice each to 17,074 TODA members and 2,555 JODA members across the First District. He also provided free medicines to 6,932 residents, financial assistance to 1,350 individuals, burial assistance to 397 families, and wheelchairs to 198 beneficiaries.
The congressman personally visited 907 bedridden senior citizens in Angeles City, Mabalacat City, and Magalang, providing each with P2,000, five kilos of rice, and Vitamin C supplements. He also donated 351 free caskets, funded from his congressional salary, to indigent families.
In support of education, Lazatin recognized 290 Kapampangan achievers with certificates and P690,000 in cash incentives, while 176 outstanding graduates received the Medal of Excellence and P1,000 each. He also facilitated educational assistance for 269 students under CHED’s Tulong Dunong Program and enrolled 314 individuals in TESDA scholarship and training programs.
Cong Pogi said he remains committed to pursuing more legislation focused on education and public health as he continues serving the First District.
