The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) has secured ISO 45001:2018 certification from DQS Philippines, strengthening its commitment to workplace safety and international management standards.

The certification was formally awarded on August 3, 2026, at the SBMA corporate boardroom by DQS Philippines Managing Director Romeo Zamora to SBMA Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño.

ISO 45001:2018 establishes an Occupational Health and Safety Management System designed to identify and mitigate workplace risks, prevent injuries, and promote a safer work environment.

Aliño said the certification represents more than an institutional milestone, emphasizing the need to consistently and earnestly uphold the standards for the benefit of SBMA employees, locators, workers, and the community.

SBMA has previously earned ISO 9001:2018 for Quality Management Systems and ISO 14001:2018 for Environmental Management Systems from DQS Philippines. TQMO Lead Auditor Lolita Bondoc said SBMA is the first Freeport authority in the Philippines to secure all three key ISO certifications.

The agency is also preparing to integrate the three management systems into a unified framework by 2028.
