The Bureau of Customs (BOC)–Port of Clark, in coordination with the Clark Inter-Agency Task Force Against Illegal Drugs (CRK-IATFAID), intercepted approximately 1,706 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱11.6 million concealed in imported car parts.

The shipment from South Africa, bound for Angeles City, was flagged after the BOC’s X-ray Inspection Project detected suspicious images. A K-9 sniff test also yielded positive indications, leading to a 100% physical examination.

Authorities found 17 packages of suspected shabu hidden inside two engine pistons and a tensioner pulley kit. Initial screening indicated the presence of methamphetamine, with samples turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for confirmatory testing.

A Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD) was subsequently issued for violations of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act in relation to Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

BOC officials credited the operation to heightened personnel vigilance and sustained coordination with partner law enforcement agencies to prevent illegal drugs from reaching Filipino communities.
