Pampanga Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, together with Porac Mayor Jing Capil and DSWD Regional Director Venus Rebuldela, personally visited Aeta families evacuated following a landslide in Sitio Pidpid, Barangay Sapang Uwak, Porac, on Friday.
The Porac MDRRMO reported that a 70-year-old Aeta died after being buried by the landslide amid continuous heavy rains.
Around 30 families were initially evacuated to the Porac Sports Center, while the Provincial Government and LGU Porac prepared for the force evacuation of more than 30 individuals living near the landslide area.
Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Delta Pineda also arranged immediate assistance, including:
- Sleeping kits
- Hygiene kits
- Ready-to-eat meals
- DSWD food packs
- Medicines
Generator sets, portable toilets, water supply, and a mobile kitchen were also prepared at the PIO Evacuation Center.
Authorities continue to coordinate to ensure the safety and immediate needs of affected families.
