Subic yacht drug haul reaches ₱366.65 million

The Bureau of Customs (BOC)–Port of Subic has uncovered an additional 123.91 kilograms of high-end kush concealed aboard a yacht previously subjected to enforcement action, bringing the total seized from the vessel to 198 packages valued at approximately ₱366.65 million.

The latest discovery involved 109 packages found during a continuing stripping and inspection operation by a composite team from the BOC, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Department of Justice, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police, and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Law Enforcement Department.

BOC–Port of Subic District Collector Atty. Geniefelle P. Lagmay said the continuing inspection reflects the agency’s commitment to thoroughly checking vessels for concealed contraband.

BOC Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno said the operation supports the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and efforts to strengthen border security.

The seized items were turned over to PDEA for proper custody and disposition, while the BOC and partner agencies continue their enforcement and investigation.
