DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon has removed Pampanga 3rd District OIC-District Engineer Aser S. Mallari and OIC-Assistant District Engineer Augustin R. Dagsaan Jr. from their posts following the alleged failure to implement required road safety measures at a project along Fil-Am Friendship Highway in Angeles City.

The action came after a man died after falling into a flooded open drainage canal at the project site.

The removal follows President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to strictly enforce safety and quality standards in government projects to protect the public.

Dizon also stressed that DPWH officials who neglect their responsibilities and fail to ensure public safety will be held accountable.
