Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda led an inspection of damaged portions of the San Fernando–Sto. Tomas–Minalin Tail Dike on Thursday, September 10, together with engineers from the Pampanga provincial government.

Minalin Mayor Philip Naguit said several sections of the tail dike were damaged by continuous heavy rains.

The provincial government and the local government unit are coordinating with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for immediate repairs to help protect residents in areas that could be affected if the dike overflows or suffers further damage.

Authorities continue to coordinate closely to ensure the safety of communities in the affected areas.
