The Angeles City Government, led by Mayor Carmelo “Jon” B. Lazatin II and the City Agriculture Office, supported the Kadiwa ng Pangulo: Benteng Bigas, Meron Na! program as part of Handog ng Pangulo 2026.
The initiative allocated 200 bags of rice for 1,000 beneficiaries from vulnerable sectors affected by the southwest monsoon or Habagat, including senior citizens, solo parents, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and other qualified residents.
Each beneficiary could purchase 10 kilos of rice at P20 per kilo to help ease household food expenses.
The Kadiwa also featured locally produced products such as sweet potatoes, bananas, empanadas, merienda, and other goods, providing market opportunities for local farmers, producers, and small businesses.
The city government said the initiative supports its efforts to make affordable food accessible while promoting Angeleño-made and locally grown products.
