Government assistance and services worth ₱118.829 million benefited 2,343 Kapampangans during the simultaneous “Handog ng Pangulo” activity held at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center on September 13, in celebration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s 69th birthday.
Representing Marcos at the event was Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon, who highlighted the administration’s commitment to bringing essential programs and services closer to vulnerable sectors, farmers, students, workers, Indigenous Peoples, and other communities in need.
“Ngayong kaarawan ng Pangulo, ang regalo ng pangulo sa atin ay trabaho, tulong at patuloy na malasakit para sa ating mga Kapampangan,” Dizon said.
Together with Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, and Nanay Party-list Representative Florabel Yatco, Dizon led the distribution of 25-kilogram rice sacks to 135 Aeta beneficiaries. The provincial government also provided cash assistance of more than ₱5,000 each to 135 Aeta scholars.
Among the major assistance packages were ₱75.6 million in CHED tertiary education subsidies and ₱15.6 million in DMW AKSYON Fund assistance for 267 overseas Filipino workers and their families.
Under the DSWD’s AICS program, 1,214 beneficiaries received ₱2,000 each, while 46 beneficiaries received more than ₱909,000 in Sustainable Livelihood Program grants.
The DTI also provided ₱14.8 million worth of Shared Service Facility assistance to the Pampanga Furniture Industries Foundation Inc., along with about ₱1.1 million in loans to three beneficiaries.
Farmers likewise received agricultural machinery, production inputs, irrigation assistance, crop insurance indemnities, and land titles. Among the assistance were two combine harvesters, eight pump-and-engine sets, two cultivators, and various farm inputs. Sixty insured farmers received a combined ₱360,000 in PCIC indemnity checks.
The DAR distributed electronic titles covering 28 hectares to 15 agrarian reform beneficiaries and CLOAs covering four hectares to five additional beneficiaries.
TESDA provided welding tool kits to 30 beneficiaries and about ₱3.3 million in scholarship vouchers, while the DOH delivered free vaccinations, diagnostic services, health assessments, and other medical assistance to around 160 patients.
Beneficiaries also accessed frontline services, including free legal consultations, National ID registration, police clearances, and free NBI clearance for the first 200 applicants.
Pineda thanked Marcos for his continued support, saying the assistance extended to Kapampangans in education, livelihood, agriculture, health, and other areas was “tunay na ramdam” by the people.
The activity demonstrated a whole-of-government approach in bringing financial assistance, livelihood opportunities, agricultural support, scholarships, health services, land tenure assistance, and frontline government services directly to communities.
