A total of 5,457 farmers from Bacolor, San Simon, Sto. Tomas, San Luis and Apalit received ₱5,400 each in cash assistance under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) program amid the continuing rains and flooding in Pampanga.
The assistance was facilitated through coordination between Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda with the National Government, including the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and the DSWD led by Secretary Rex Gatchalian.
The provincial officials personally checked on the beneficiaries as the flooding continued to affect agricultural livelihoods, daily income and basic needs of families dependent on farming and fishing.
The ₱5,400 assistance is intended to help beneficiaries meet immediate food and household expenses while they gradually recover and rebuild their sources of livelihood.
Joining the activity were Board Members Dra. Kaye Naguit, Atty. Vince Calara and Lucky Labung, along with San Simon Vice Mayor Anne Canlas, San Luis Mayor Jay Sagum and Apalit Mayor Jun Tetangco.
