Twenty members of the Raniag Primary Multipurpose Cooperative recently took part in a skills training on sweet potato processing, turning a familiar root crop into potential livelihood opportunities.
The activity equipped participants with basic to intermediate skills in preparing various sweet potato-based products that could help generate additional income for cooperative members.
During the hands-on training, participants learned to make sweet potato chips, jam, molido candy, hopia, and tart, expanding their knowledge in food processing and product development.
Beyond learning new recipes, the training highlighted how locally available agricultural products can be transformed into marketable goods, giving cooperative members another avenue to strengthen their livelihood and income.
