Angeles City strengthens GFPS capacity on gender mainstreaming

The Angeles City Government, in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Angeles City and DILG Central Luzon, conducted a two-day capacity development activity for the city’s Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) on September 22–23.

Held at the City Planning and Development Office Conference Room, the activity focused on practical tools for advancing gender-responsive governance and mainstreaming gender and development (GAD) initiatives in local government programs.

Participants discussed the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG), Gender-Responsive Local Government Unit (GeRL) Assessment Tool, and GAD Focal Point System Functionality Assessment Tool (GFAST)** for local government units.

The intervention aimed to strengthen the GFPS’s capacity to use GAD assessment tools and support the development of more responsive programs and services for the Angeles City community.
