The Board of Investments (BOI) and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) engaged local and foreign media in a roundtable discussion on the Philippines’ long-term industrialization strategy and the proposed Clark Advanced Manufacturing Park in New Clark City.

Organized by the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines (FOCAP), the discussion focused on the country’s efforts to advance manufacturing, technology, and its position in the global technology value chain.

Trade Undersecretary Ceferino “Perry” Rodolfo said the Philippines’ participation in the Pax Silica initiative complements and accelerates existing national priorities on industrialization, advanced manufacturing, and technology ecosystem development.

BCDA President and CEO Joshua M. Bingcang discussed the strategic role and potential economic impact of the proposed 1,620-hectare Clark Advanced Manufacturing Park, while addressing concerns related to water, energy, environmental considerations, and community engagement.

The country’s participation in the Pax Silica network also supports the Philippine Semiconductor and Electronics Industry Roadmap and the Philippines AI+ Infrastructure Masterplan (PAIIM) 2026–2033, alongside the administration’s efforts to strengthen the country’s industrial base and develop the Philippines as a competitive technology and innovation hub.
