More than 1,200 indigenous tree seedlings were planted in Aurora as the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), government agencies, local government units, and community stakeholders joined a reforestation drive marking the 126th anniversary of the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

The activity was held within the Dibalo-Pingit-Zabali-Malayat Watershed Forest Reserve, where participants planted narra, supa, and molave seedlings.

DENR Dingalan CENRO head Jimmy Aberin said the agency provided the seedlings and technical assistance, including site assessment, species selection, and proper planting techniques.

A two-hectare area within the watershed has also been designated as a permanent planting site for the CSC for five years under the DENR’s Luntiang Pook Bayan initiative.

DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo urged government employees to extend their public service to environmental stewardship, emphasizing the vital role of forests in sustaining communities and ecosystems.

Representatives from national government agencies, five Aurora LGUs, and academic institutions also took part in the tree-planting activity.
