The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP) planted 1,006 native and endemic tree seedlings at the Bulacan Arboretum in Barangay Sibul, San Miguel, Bulacan as part of continuing efforts to rehabilitate forests and conserve biodiversity.

The tree-planting activity included 256 narra, 200 red lauan, 200 palosapis, and 350 molave seedlings, selected for their suitability to local ecosystems and their role in forest restoration.

DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo underscored the importance of using native and endemic species in forest rehabilitation, noting their contribution to maintaining biodiversity and supporting healthy, resilient forest ecosystems.

Pablo also highlighted the importance of partnerships between government agencies and private organizations in advancing environmental initiatives. He encouraged other groups and communities to take part in similar activities.

The initiative forms part of the government’s continuing efforts to restore and enhance forest areas through the planting and maintenance of appropriate native and endemic species, helping protect the country’s rich biodiversity.
