Expect more than just fast feet and Halloween thrills when Clark turns into a playground for runners, families and hospitality professionals on October 24.
Under the glow of the Clark night sky, hundreds of participants are expected to lace up, dress up and run for a cause as Les Clefs d’Or Philippines stages its inaugural “Ghoul Run – A Night Fun Run 2026.”
Set at the Clark Parade Grounds, the 5 p.m. event is expected to attract more than 1,000 participants, transforming an ordinary evening into a spirited celebration of fitness, fellowship and philanthropy. Race categories include 1K Dog Run, 3K, 5K and 10K.
But while the event promises the fun of a Halloween-themed night run, its purpose goes much deeper.
Every stride is meant to help communities move forward.
Organized by the Philippine chapter of Les Clefs d’Or, the prestigious international association of professional hotel concierges, Ghoul Run will raise funds for the organization’s continuing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs focusing on education, environmental conservation, medical missions, indigenous communities, youth development and other community-based initiatives.
The Philippine chapter has long carried the organization’s philosophy of “In Service Through Friendship,” extending the culture of hospitality beyond hotel lobbies and guest rooms and into communities. Its official platform likewise highlights service, friendship and professional excellence as central to the Les Clefs d’Or tradition.
A RUN WITH A HEART
For Chicho Martinez, Vice President of Les Clefs d’Or Philippines and Concierge and Transport Operations Manager of Swissôtel Clark Philippines, Hann Resorts, Ghoul Run represents something bigger than a sporting event.
It is a chance for the hospitality industry, business sector and community to come together and turn goodwill into action.
“Ghoul Run is an opportunity for the hospitality industry and the wider business community to come together for a common purpose,” Martinez said.
“Beyond promoting health and wellness, we hope to inspire individuals and organizations to join us in creating opportunities and improving lives through our various CSR programs. Every registration, sponsorship, and participation contributes to a meaningful cause.”
Martinez, known in the hospitality community as “Chicho,” has himself become part of the Les Clefs d’Or tradition in Clark. Swissôtel Clark previously highlighted his membership in the Philippine chapter and his role as Concierge and Transport Manager, marking his place among the country’s professional concierge community.
Now, the Clark-based hospitality leader is helping bring that same spirit of service into a new arena—one where running shoes replace concierge desks and the finish line becomes a symbol of collective generosity.
FROM HOSPITALITY TO HUMANITY
For more than three decades, Les Clefs d’Or Philippines has combined hospitality excellence with community service.
Its CSR initiatives have included scholarships, educational assistance, school improvement projects, medical missions, environmental programs and outreach efforts for indigenous communities.
Among its initiatives are college scholarship programs in Malay, Aklan; educational assistance and school facility improvements at Yapak Elementary School in Boracay; mangrove tree-planting activities; and medical missions for underserved communities.
The organization has also supported Ayta communities in Pampanga, working on youth development, environmental and community-building initiatives.
These programs give greater meaning to Ghoul Run: the event is not simply about gathering people for a night of exercise and entertainment, but about gathering people around a shared commitment to help others.
As Les Clefs d’Or Philippines President Mayumi Hayakawa-Marcelo puts it, “Hospitality is ultimately about caring for people.”
SPOOKY, SOCIAL AND FUN
And yes, there will be plenty of fun along the way.
Ghoul Run will feature Halloween-inspired race categories, entertainment, sponsor activations, giveaways, raffle prizes and family-friendly activities.
Serious runners can chase their personal bests, while families, friends, hotel teams and corporate groups can simply enjoy an energetic night out in Clark.
The event’s combination of running, entertainment and charity also adds another dimension to Clark’s growing calendar of sports and community events, drawing visitors and participants into the Freeport for an evening of activity and celebration.
For the hospitality industry, it is also a chance to strengthen connections beyond business—as colleagues, partners and friends come together for a common cause.
And for Clark, it is another opportunity to showcase its streets, open spaces and tourism environment as a natural setting for events that bring people together.
RUN. GIVE. MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Les Clefs d’Or Philippines is inviting corporations, hotels and hospitality brands, government agencies, civic organizations and community leaders to support Ghoul Run as sponsors, partners or participants.
The message is simple: come for the run, stay for the cause.
Because when more than 1,000 people take to the streets on October 24, they will not simply be chasing medals, beating personal records or enjoying a Halloween-themed evening.
They will be running for education.
Running for communities.
Running for hope.
And, in the true spirit of Les Clefs d’Or Philippines, running in service through friendship.
