BDO launches self-service Forex machine at NAIA Terminal 3

Travelers arriving at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 can now convert foreign currency into Philippine pesos within minutes through BDO’s new self-service Currency Exchange Machine.

The machine allows both foreign and Filipino travelers carrying US dollars, euros, and Japanese yen to exchange their money without filling out forms or requiring teller assistance.

Available 24/7, the automated service is designed to provide a fast, convenient, and secure way to access Philippine pesos immediately upon arrival.

The machine authenticates banknotes, accepts up to 30 bills per transaction, and provides a printed receipt for every exchange. Customers also receive peso bills and coins upon completion of the transaction.

The Currency Exchange Machine is located shortly after immigration clearance and the arrival gates, directly in front of the BDO branch at NAIA Terminal 3.

BDO Executive Vice President and Head of Branch Banking Group Cora A. Mallillin said the innovation responds to travelers’ growing expectations for convenience and flexibility.

“Travelers today expect convenience at every touchpoint of their journey,” Mallillin said, noting that the machine gives customers greater control over their foreign exchange needs while providing secure access to pesos without delays.

She added that the initiative reinforces BDO’s commitment to providing competitive foreign exchange services where customers need them most.

Five Easy Steps
Using the self-service Currency Exchange Machine involves five steps: selecting the currency to be converted, reviewing and accepting the terms and conditions, scanning the passport for identity authentication, inserting the foreign bills and confirming the peso amount, and collecting the converted pesos and transaction receipt.

BDO said the automated service reflects the growing preference for digital and self-service transactions, offering travelers a simple and secure way to obtain local currency as soon as they arrive in the Philippines.
