Zumba showdown culminates CSF women’s month celebration
The City Government of San Fernando culminated its women’s month celebration on March 31, 2022 through a showdown of women Zumba groups from different barangays who participated in virtual “Zoomba-baihan” contest.
Women dancers from 13 participating villages filled the entire Mini Convention Center of Heroes Hall with colorful costumes, lively moves, and loud cheers promoting “women empowerment” through dancing.
Of the 13 villages, San Nicolas emerged as the competition champion while Sta. Teresita and San Pedro ranked first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively.
Several special awards were also given out.
Other participants were from Barangays Calulut, Dela Paz Sur, Del Pilar, Del Rosario, Lara, Maimpis, Malpitic, Northville, Quebiawan, San Pedro, Sta. Teresita, and Sto. Niño.
Every March of each year, the City joins the nation in celebrating women’s month which was established as “a venue to highlight women’s achievements and discuss continuing and emerging women’s empowerment and gender equality issues and concerns, challenges, and commitments.” (CSF CIO)
