The Kambal Festival Trade Fair featuring locally-made products earned Php456,583 from the patronizing public in a week-long run.
The trade fair, a program of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. in line with the celebration of Fiestang Kuliat 2022 to assist local merchants, still has two more days to sell Gawang Angeleño products at the Plaza Anghel in the city’s Heritage District.
Lazatin said the unexpected daily sales of the trade fair means Angeleños and even residents from the neighboring cities or towns have full trust and confidence in the quality of Angeles-made products.
“Patunay lamang po ito na mataas ang pagtangkilik sa mga Gawang Angeleño products. Kayang-kaya pong makipagsabayan ng dekalidad ng mga lokal na produkto natin sa merkado,” Lazatin said.
Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, who is supervising the trade fair with Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer-in-Charge Irish Bonus-Llego, said the city government is proud that local merchants showcase their products not just during trade fairs but also in the city-run One Town One Product store.
Bonus-Llego reported the daily sales starting on the opening day on October 17 was Php45,974; Php69,973 on October 18; Php54,397 on October 19; Php60,462 on October 20; Php101,806 on October 21; Php55,666 on October 22; and, Php68,305 on October 23.
Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, one of the key personalities who made the revitalization of OTOP possible in 2019 and part of the planning of the Kambal Festival trade fair, thanked all who continue to support local merchants and their business.
“Sa totoo lang po, hindi natin nilimitahan ang trade fair pagdating sa mga gustong mag-display. Binigyan din po natin ng puwesto ang mga kababayan nating Aeta mula sa Barangay Sapangbato, mga gawang-kamay ng mga Persons Deprived of Liberty sa ating BJMP, pati na rin po si Lolo Lito, o mas kilalang Lolo Pops,” Calaguas said.
Calaguas stressed this has been the objective of the trade fair: to introduce and promote more local merchants and businesses to a larger market. Member-merchants who participated in the trade fair include Impact Balibago Arts and Crafts, K’s Creations, Tamayuq, JJBMS, Chilona, Izzamway, Teresa’s Mashroom, Jaq’s Kitchen, Modesta Empanada, Corndog, Overnasi, Nature’s Harvest, Samarino Accessories, Woodcraft by Madison, Tabak’s, Raj, Cutud Weavers, EllenTurla, Flores Handicraft, and Organics Farmers.
The Kambal Festival trade fair is open until October 26, 2022 from 8 AM to 8 PM.
