Alex Gonzaga opens up about pregnancy issue

“To our baby whom we almost had, thank you for giving mommy and daddy joy even for a short span,” Alex Gonzaga-Morada shared on social media today, Sunday, October 17.

This was Alex’s heartbreaking message as she finally opened up about her pregnancy that ended abruptly. Nothing hurts more than losing a baby you never even got to meet.

Alex revealed that they found out she was pregnant two months ago. Three weeks ago however, they learned they might be having an anembryonic pregnancy, also called a  blighted ovum.

Their doctor advised them to wait for the process to naturally take its course.

The couple waited for a while for the outcome of the pregnancy before telling their story.

Alex narrated that during the ordeal, the waiting and praying tested their faith and there was a lot of crying. They asked every day for a miracle that an embryo would appear.

But last Tuesday, October 12, the pregnancy journey ended.

The issue came to a fore after showbiz talk show host and entertainment news writer Lolit Solis jumped the gun and wrote on her social media account about a rumor that Alex was pregnant and allegedly had a “miscarriage”.

Solis was ceaselessly bashed and bombarded with harsh comments by Alex’s fans, calling her “bastos” and “insensitive” after she posted about the actress-comedienne’s alleged miscarriage rumor.

On October 13, Lipa City Councilor Mikee Morada, Alex’ husband, couldn’t help but react to the news posted by Lolit Solis on her Instagram account for allegedly spreading “miscarriage’ rumors about his wife.

Mikee commented that the post was heartbreaking and disappointing

“Hindi lang patungkol kay Alex ang inyong sinulat. Tungkol ito sa aming mag-asawa. Huwag po kayong gumawa ng kuwento sa ganitong klaseng sitwasyon lalo’t hindi nyo naman alam ang totoong pangyayari. Salamat,” he said.

Solis apologized for the incident.

“Gusto ko maging clear sa lahat na never ko ginusto na maka-offend o makasakit ng tao. Isa akong matandang babae, edad 74 going 75, at siguro sa buhay ko, dumating na ako sa punto na gusto ko sanang walang nagagalit o naiinis sa akin,” she said.

Meanwhile, Alex said despite the pain and loss they’ve gone through, they are sharing their story and advised couples who had the same experience to never lose hope and it’s not their fault that it happened.

“You will grieve. But at your own pace, you can start to heal,” she pointed out.

She said she and her husband held their faith in Jesus to prepare and help them accept their situation.

“He blessed us with a kind of LOVE that is ready to understand. We know that in His perfect time, He will bless us with our ultimate desire,” she added.

Alex’s fans and her fellow celebrities gave messages of support to comfort them and thanked everyone who gave them time to heal.
