The Angeles City government, led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is encouraging all parents with children of 0-59 months old to vaccinate their kids against Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) such as measles, rubella and polio vaccination campaign in May 2-31, 2023.
To ensure the routine immunization services will be receive by Angeleño kids Mayor Lazatin instructed that the vaccines will be deliver in a house-to-house basis and free of charge in all 33 barangays in Angeles City.
“Para po ito sa kalusugan at kapakanan ng mga batang Angeleño. Hinihikayat ko po ang mga magulang na pabakunahan niyo po ang inyong mga anak,” he urged.
The campaign will be undertaken by the City Health Office (CHO), led by Dr. Verona Guevarra with Nurse Supervisor Evelinda and Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel will ensure the proper implementation of the campaign.
“Lahat po ng bata sa siyudad ay dapat mabakunahan. Kami na po mismo ang magdadala ng bakuna sa inyong tahanan para maging kumbinyente at mabilis para sainyo ang bakunahan,” Lazatin said.
The health officials are set to administer MR vaccines to a total of 35,058 kids ages 9-59 months, and as well as 41,010 kids, ages 0-59 months old with OPV which equates to a 100% target.
Lazatin instructed barangay affairs to coordinate the schedule of the house-to-house vaccination to all barangay officials and aid the city health workers in the delivery of vaccines.
He also appealed to encourage homeowners associations in subdivisions in the city to allow barangay health workers to conduct a house-to-house vaccination in their premises.
The Angeles City Government has been conducting community-based immunization of measles, rubella and Polio for Angeleño children since 2021 amid challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
