Angeles BFP leads fight vs Sto. Rosario fire

Members of the Angeles City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) sprung into action Sunday night to put out a fire that hit Airland Supermarket in Barangay Sto. Rosario.

As soon as the blaze was raised to alarm 4, fire brigades from other cities and towns and even volunteers assisted the city in putting out the fire.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. commended the BFP, volunteers from Mabalacat City and Magalang town for their continuous efforts for the city.

He also mentioned the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office led by Rodolfo Simeon for immediately rushing to the scene for medical assistance.

“Maraming salamat po sa walang sawang tulong ninyo,” Mayor Lazatin said.

The Angeles BFP deployed three engine trucks to contain the fire in the four-floor edifice.

Among those who responded to the incident were fire fighters from the Volunteer Fire Brigade led by Mabalacat City Councilor Timothy Dee; Mabalacat City Fire Department; Magalang Fire Department; Bacolor Fire Department; Sta. Rita Fire Department; Porac Fire Department and other nearby town fire departments.

A fourth alarm requires an estimated 16 trucks at the scene, tapping all nearby fire brigades province-wide and even volunteers. This is to assist each other during a fire incident.

Also seen at the fire site was Mayor Lazatin who immediately went to the scene to check on his kababayans.

Although there were no reported injuries, the ACDRRMO stood by. The Angeles City BFP with other fire brigades and volunteers stayed on the scene. It took about 16 hours to contain the fire.

Mayor Lazatin is asking for prayers for the fire victims and the fire teams.

The Angeles City Government has a Disaster Prevention and Response Plan approved by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
