The Angeles City government, led by mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on November 24 extended P10,000 financial assistance to families who were affected by a fire in Barangay Lourdes Sur East.
Last November 8, Mayor Lazatin ordered the Local Finance Committee composed of City Budget Office, City Treasurer’s Office and City Accounting Office — to immediately process the financial assistance for the seven families, totalling 27 individuals.
The funds for the assistance will be taken from the Office of the City Mayor’s regular budget.
Upon Mayor Lazatin’s instruction, aside from the P10,000 cash assistance, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) headed by Edna Duaso, already distributed food assistance, hygiene kits, banigs, and blankets to the residents on Nov. 7, 2021, the day the fire happened.
