Angeles City joins nat’l vaxx drive

Deploys 5 bus clinics for booster shots

The Angeles City local government, led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., joined the national government’s National Vaccination Drive on March 10 to 12, 2022 by deploying five (5) mobile bus clinics at terminals, boundaries, and outside of malls for the Ronda Bakuna booster shots of Angeleños and non-residents.

The 3 mobile bus clinics and 2 ambulance vaxx clinics were powered by the 400-strong vaccination team led by Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, who is also the chief implementer of the city government’s vaccination program.

Mayor Lazatin said this is in a bid towards herd immunity, assisting neighboring towns and cities in their vaccination program.

The city will accommodate all Angeleños and non-residents who have been fully vaccinated until December 10, 2021.

Regarding supplies, City Health Officer Dr. Verona Guevarra said the National Vaccination Operation Center is continuously delivering vaccines to the city.

Also manning the ground as commanders are City Social Welfare and Development Officer Edna Duaso and Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer-in-Charge Rodolfo Simeon.

Aside from this initiative, the mega vaccination sites at the City College of Angeles and Angeles City National High School are operational especially for the unvaccinated and those for second dose.

To date, 370,085 Angeleños already received their first dose of vaccines; 337,423 are fully vaccinated; and 64,318 got their booster shots. (Angeles City Information Office)
