Angeles City prepares campaign for Nutrition Month
Angeles City Nutrition Officer-in-Charge Jermaine Jam Aguila ordered the hanging of streamers on June 30 in preparation for the celebration of Nutrition Month.
At least 20,280 kids aged 6 months to 59 months from the city’s 33 barangays will receive Vitamin A supplements from the city government starting July 4, 2022 via a house-to-house delivery.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. said this is in line with the city government’s Nutrition Month celebration with the theme “New Normal keng Nutrisyun, Sama-Samang Gawan ng Solusyon.”
“Mayor Lazatin gives emphasis on the need to protect the children from any harm caused by the present-day virus,” Aguila said.
The city government will also launch a bun with malunggay called “Pusong Mamon” on July 4 to continue its campaign against malnutrition.
A total of 1,500 chidren aged 5 years old and below have been identified as malnourished.
The Pusong Mamon will be launched in partnership with Luchie Lozano of Giada’s Bakery during the kick off of the city’s Nutrition Month celebration on July 4. (AC Nutrition Office)
