A total of 16 minors – 14 boys and 2 girls – were rescued along Barangays Cutcut, San Nicolas, and Sto. Rosario, as the city government, under the administration of Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., ramps up its goal to prioritize the safety and welfare of Angeleños.

Teams of the city-wide rescue operation and saturation drive supervised by Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel resumed the rescue operation today, October 18, with deployed staff from the City Social Welfare and Development Office led by Edna Duaso; Gender and Development Office led by Mina Cabiles; Angeles City Tourism Auxiliary headed by Michael Lising; Angeles City Police Office and the Angeles City Women and Children Protection Center.

As of Thursday, Oct. 14, 160 individuals were already rescued and returned to their families around the city and in Porac town, Tarlac province, Mabalacat City and Nueva Ecija. Out of the 160, 43 are adults and 117 children. To date, four girls and two boys are in the custody centers of the city government — in the Home for the Girls and Home for the Boys. Meanwhile, one female homeless abandoned elderly was turned over to the city’s home for the aged, Bale Pusu.
