Angeles City to give polio vaccines to Angeleño kids

The Angeles City government led by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin will mobilize its oral polio vaccination program on May 2 to 31, 2023.

In behalf of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas together with Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and some department heads presided a meeting on April 3 to discuss the upcoming measles, rubella and oral vaccination program.

Mayor Lazatin is encouraging all Angeleño parents to allow their children to get vaccinated. Children aged 9 months to 59 months can get vaccinated against measles and rubella, while newborn to 59 months can receive the oral polio.

Lazatin will lead the kick-off vaccination on May 2 in Barangay Pampang and the house-to-house immunization in other barangays will follow suit via schedule.

Mayor Lazatin wants to ensure the safety and health of all Angeleños, especially the children and to prevent the outbreaks of Vaccine Preventable Diseases such as measles, rubella, and polio.

Present also during the meeting are City Health Office Head Dr. Verona Guevarra, CHO Nurse Supervisor Evelinda Mariano, Rural Health Unit VI Resident Doctor Cristine Joy Patio, Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles, Business Permit and Licensing Division Chief Evangeline Malonzo, City Nutrition Officer Jermaine Jam Aguila, and Barangay Affairs and Public Assistance Center Deputy Ryan David.
