Angeles City to start vaxx of kids aged 5 to 11 in February

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. said on Wednesday, January 26, that the Angeles City government is gearing up for the vaccination drive of children aged 5 to 11 years old starting this February.

Mayor Lazatin shared that the city, with its logistics, manpower, and resources, is now ready to inoculate children ages 5 to 11.

“Handa po ang siyudad sa pagsisimula ng bakuna para sa mga batang may edad lima hanggang labing-isang taon,” Lazatin said.

Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas explained that with the help of Reina Manuel, Executive Assistant IV, the head of vaccination committee on ways and means, the city will provide all the needs for the children’s vaccination to ensure their health and welfare.

Calaguas is also the chief implementer of the city’s vaccination program.

Manuel said the city has already purchased all the ancillary supplies needed for the vaccination of its targeted population.

While waiting for the guidelines set by the Department of Health for the inoculation of the children, City Health Officer Dr. Verona Guevarra is coordinating with volunteer-pediatricians who are set to be deployed at the mega vaccination sites, once the children’s inoculation begins.

During the inoculation of minors in November 2021, 64 pediatricians volunteered to assist the city government .

To date, 353,229 Angeleños are fully vaccinated; 315,462 received first dose; and 18,316 for their booster shots.
