Asticom renews hope for unemployed Pinoys

Rochelle Cuartelon lost her job at the onset of the pandemic when the company she worked for closed shop.

But thankfully, her grim days did not last as Cuartelon soon found hope through shared services provider Asticom Group of Companies.

Although many businesses downsized their workforce or even stopped their operations, Asticom created more job opportunities that opened doors for highly skilled Filipino individuals. One of them was Cuartelon, for whom Asticom found placement in a startup.

While being part of a pioneering team was at first difficult for Cuartelon, she said it was nevertheless fulfilling. In less than six months of employment, she was promoted to Store Supervisor.

“Malaking tulong ‘yung nabigay ng Asticom dahil ‘nung panahon ng pandemic, down na down ‘yung mundo, [pero] hindi ako pinabayaan ng Asticom. Lalo na sa akin na breadwinner ng pamilya ko,” said Cuartelon.

“Ngayon, nagbunga ang struggles namin kasi marami na ring gumagamit at nagtitiwala sa company,” she said.

Cuartelon is among thousands of Filipinos who found opportunities in Asticom after facing unemployment due to the pandemic.

In 2021 alone, Asticom generated 3,000 jobs. It aims to expand its workforce to around 15,000 in the next five years through the accelerated growth of its subsidiaries, including the launch of an all-in-one human resource solutions platform to help businesses source top talents, to contribute to the country’s economic recovery.

This is in line with Asticom’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDG) No. 8, which promotes productive employment, decent work, and inclusive economic growth for all, being part of the Globe Group.

Asticom also offers diverse business solutions through its wholly-owned companies: IT-BPO enterprise Asti Business Services Inc. (ABSI), HR and Digital Solutions provider HCX Technology Partners Inc., and engineering firm Fiber Infrastructure and Network Services Inc. (FINSI).

“We continuously seek ways to pave long-term growth for the group. We also aspire that through realizing these goals, we can support many more Filipino businesses in their growth and improve the lives of more Filipinos,” said Mharicar Castillo-Reyes, Asticom Group of Companies President and CEO. Visit https://asticom.com.ph/  to know more.
