Over 200 participants gathered at Fighter Town, Basa Air Base in Floridablanca, Pampanga on Saturday, May 24, for the inaugural Jude Badminton Cup—a tournament held in memory of the late Philippine Air Force (PAF) Major Jude Salang-oy.
The event was organized by Faith Jael Salang-oy, widow of Maj. Salang-oy, as a tribute to her husband’s legacy. The tournament also aimed to inspire youth leadership, encourage community participation, and promote positive change at the grassroots level.
Maj. Salang-oy was one of two pilots who tragically perished during a tactical night operation in March 2025, when an FA-50 fighter jet crashed in the Mt. Kalatungan Complex, Bukidnon.
