About 206,409 students are currently enrolled in elementary and secondary schools in Bataan for School Year 2022-2023.
These include 176,929 students enlisted within the jurisdiction of the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Bataan and 29,480 students within the jurisdiction of SDO Balanga City.
During the National School Opening Day Program held at Dinalupihan Elementary School, Department of Education (DepEd) Bataan OIC-Schools Division Superintendent Roland Fronda emphasized the importance of opening the face-to-face classes to learners after more than two school years of distance learning.
“There is no better time than now to bring our learners back after struggling with their learning mostly on their own, with their parents, and with their guardians. It is not only how and what they learn that we will assure but also their experience of once again belonging to a community that we will provide to them,” Fronda emphasized.
He also thanked the local chief executives and stakeholders for making the return of in-person classes in the province safe and possible.
The National School Opening Day Program was graced by Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte who emphasized that the resumption of face-to-face classes nationwide is a great achievement for the Filipino youth.
She assured that the agency, together with Department of Health, has laid down guidelines to prevent learners, and teaching and non-teaching personnel from being infected with Covid-19 in schools. (PIA 3)
