Bataan public transport route plan to be finalized

The Local Government of Bataan together with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region 3 met to finalize the local public transport route plan in the province.

The purpose of the activity is to finalize the LPTRP of the Province of Bataan in accordance with Department Order number 2017-011 or known as the Omnibus Franchising Guidelines in the planning and determination of public road transportation services and franchising.

According to the officials of the Province of Bataan the submission of their Local Public Transport Route Plan will be this month of March 2023.

The LPTRP is one of the main components of the PUV Modernization Program, a plan that details the route network, modes, and the required number of units per mode for the delivery of land transport service, which is the minimum requirement set for issuance of PUV franchises. While the Local Transport Master Plan which links land use to transport modes and provides measures for traffic management.

Representatives from the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA), Provincial Cooperative and Enterprises Development Office (PCEDO) were also present during the meeting. (LTFRB Region III)
