‘Bayung Angeles’ political tarps posted on trees

Political tarpaulins of mayor wannabe and self-professed environmentalist, Councilor Amos B. Rivera, and his team ‘Bayung Angeles’ are seen posted on trees in Barangay Pandan, Angeles City on November 26, 2021. This act is in direct violation of Chapter 15 of City Ordinance 431 (Environmental Code of Angeles City), which penalizes the posting of billboards, posters, streamers, and similar such promotional materials on trees in public places.

Photos of Rivera’s tarpaulins were contributed by Edilberto Morales of Barangay Pandan.

This is quite the contrary to his image as protector of the environment.

In January 2020, Rivera joined the community-led vigil to save the 259 trees along Friendship Highway that would be affected by the road-widening project of the DPWH.

Rivera posted photos of himself during the vigil on his social media account.
