The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has remitted ₱5.17 billion to the national government, reinforcing its role in nation-building and sustainable development.

The ceremonial turnover took place on June 16 at the Department of Finance (DOF) headquarters in Pasay City, highlighting BCDA’s continued contribution to the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and other key government programs.
Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto commended the agency for exceeding expectations, noting that BCDA remitted more than the required 75% of its net income. “Hindi lang kayo tumutupad sa tungkulin, lumalagpas pa kayo,” Recto said. “₱5.17 billion can be used to build around a thousand classrooms, fertilize over half a million hectares of rice land, or support programs for our children.”
BCDA President and CEO Engr. Joshua M. Bingcang underscored the significance of the remittance. “What we turn over today is a reflection of that long and purposeful journey—one grounded in nation-building. A journey that opens opportunities, builds infrastructure, connects lives, and measures growth not just in revenue but in improved lives.”

For more than three decades, BCDA has transformed former military lands into economic growth centers, generating funds to support national development. The initiative is in line with the Marcos administration’s socioeconomic goals of inclusive, transparent, and long-term progress.
