BTS nominated in three categories at the upcoming 2021 American Music Awards

The nominations for the 2021 American Music Awards were announced on October 28. According to Billboard, the nominees are chosen based on “key fan interaction,” which include streaming, album sales, song sales, and radio airplay.
Tracked by Billboard and MRC Data, the nominations cover the period between September 25, 2020 and September 23, 2021.
For the first time ever, BTS is nominated for Artist of the Year, alongside Ariana Grande, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd.
BTS was also nominated for Favorite Pop Duo or Group for the third year in a row while their song “Butter” was nominated for Favorite Pop Song.
Other songs in the Favorite Pop Song category include Doja Cat (feat. SZA)’s “Kiss Me More,” Dua Lipa’s “Levitating,” Olivia Rodrigo’s “drivers license,” and The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s “Save Your Tears (Remix).”
Last year, BTS won two trophies for Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock and as the Favorite Social Artist for their third year in a row.
This year however, the category is not in the current list of nominations.
The 2021 American Music Awards will broadcast from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 21. (source Soompi)
