In a heartwarming show of support, the Provincial Government of Pampanga, under Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, extended crucial assistance to 400 dialysis patients from the province’s 4th District on Tuesday, October 22.
Governor Delta and Vice Governor Nanay personally visited the Apalit Dialysis Center, accompanied by Apalit Mayor Jun Tetangco, Minalin Mayor Philip Naguit, Apalit Vice Mayor Peter Nucom, and Macabebe Vice Mayor Vince Flores. The officials were on hand to meet the patients, ensuring that their well-being was a priority.
Each patient received ₱2,000 in cash to help alleviate the cost of ongoing treatments. This support is part of the expanded “Alagang Nanay Preventive Health Care Program,” which aims to provide continuous care to individuals undergoing regular dialysis.
Among the grateful beneficiaries was Mr. Reynaldo, a 58-year-old from Colgante, Apalit. After two years of dialysis following kidney damage, the financial burden of treatment had weighed heavily on him and his family. Once a seaman, Reynaldo expressed profound gratitude for the assistance.
“Governor Delta and Nanay’s support is a lifeline for those of us on dialysis,” Reynaldo shared, describing the relief the program brings.
Aside from financial aid, the patients received rice packs, a three-month supply of maintenance medicines, and free doses of epoetin, an essential drug for managing anemia in dialysis patients.
Through this initiative, the provincial government reaffirms its commitment to the health and well-being of its citizens, providing not just medical support, but hope and comfort during challenging times.
