Personnel of the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) Security Department headed by Rey Nanquil rescued 11 cats from the CIAC Corporate building. The cats will be turned over to the Angeles City Veterinary Office headed by Dr. Christian Arcilla for spaying/neutering procedure.
CIAC Vice President for Operations IC Calaguas explained that “By doing so, their population will be controlled. After recovery, cats will be released back to CIAC vicinity.”
Calaguas shared that during their stint in the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in 2018, she, along with Gen. Aaron Aquino (then chief of the agency, and currently CIAC president and CEO), with the PDEA K-9 unit “did the same with some 30 cats in PDEA NHQ.”
Calaguas thanked the Angeles City Government, headed by Mayor Carmelo Jr Lazatin, for this partnership, adding that she hopes for “other firms, schools and even households will imitate this practice.”
