CCA acquires accreditation in 7 bachelor programs – The Voice Newsweekly

Seven bachelor programs from the City College of Angeles are now officially accredited by the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA).

The said accreditation brings privileges to CCA for qualification to apply and receive grants and scholarships for faculty, students, and staff; receive grants for research and extension projects; consultative assistance in the deployment of their students in internship, among others.

Among the bachelor programs which received the certification of accreditation are Bachelor of Library and Information Science, Bachelor of Science (BS) in Entrepreneurship, BS in Tourism Management, BS in Computer Science, BS in Information Systems, Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education

According to CCA President Dr. Frankie Villanueva, CCA underwent a rigorous process of accreditation on September last year to quality check whether the college is meeting the strict and recognized set of service and operational standards to ensures overall quality of education to the programs they offer.

Dr. Villanueva also said that there were 10 parameters set to be evaluated during the process of accreditation, including Governance and Administration, Faculty, Curriculum and Instruction, Student Development and Services, Entrepreneurship and Employability, Community Extension, Research, Library, Laboratories, and Physical Plant.

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. congratulated the CCA for this milestone, recognizing the hard work and efforts of Pres. Villanueva, faculty, and staff as this will promote educational development in the city.

Lazatin also vows to continue uplifting quality education for CCA, and pushing additional buildings and classrooms to accommodate more scholars, hire more teachers, and offer more courses.

Lazatin, together with Dr. Villanueva, VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Carolina Sarmiento, VP for Administration Prof. Eden Dizon, and VP for Research, Extension, & Quality Assurance Dr. Jean Paolo Lacap received the accreditation certification awarded by the ALCUCOA President and Executive Director Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega during the presentation and confirmation ceremonies on January 17, 2023.
