CLEAN-UP DRIVE CONDUCTED AT BARANGAY BALIBAGO CREEK

Following the directive of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO), led by Jenifer Castro, and the Environmental Management System, headed by Kiko Pangilinan, conducted a clean-up drive at Barangay Balibago Creek. The waterway overflowed on March 27, 2025, after being clogged with garbage during heavy rainfall.

Barangay Balibago personnel, under the leadership of Punong Barangay Joseph Ponce, assisted in the clearing operations.

Castro urged the public to practice proper waste disposal and emphasized the importance of community cooperation in maintaining a clean and flood-free environment.

Mayor Lazatin underscored the urgency of addressing the issue, stating, “This incident highlights the urgent need to prevent waste buildup and ensure sustained cleanup efforts to protect our environment.”

The Lazatin administration continues to push for environmental conservation through programs such as the massive reforestation of the Angeles City Watershed in Barangay Sapangbato, the implementation of waste segregation at source in city hall offices, schools, and barangays, and the “Walang Plastikan, Plastik Palit Bigas” plastic-to-rice exchange program.
