Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. will donate ₱100,000 from his salary to assist victims of Typhoon Tino and Uwan in Negros Oriental.
“Lubos ang aking pakikiramay sa ating mga kababayang nasalanta sa matinding hagupit ng mga nagdaang bagyo,” Lazatin said. “Mula sa Unang Distrito ng Pampanga, ipinaaabot namin ang aming panalangin, pagmamahal, at pakikiisa,” he added.
According to the NDRRMC, at least 114 people have died, 127 remain missing, and 82 were injured as of November 6. More than 544,000 families were affected, with over 127,000 currently staying in evacuation centers.
Lazatin’s Chief Adviser, DOTr Asec. IC Calaguas, and Chief Political Affairs Officer Reina Manuel will also personally donate ₱25,000 each. The Red Pillars Foundation, led by Calaguas and Manuel, will contribute an additional ₱50,000.
Members of Lazatin’s Congressional Staff have likewise pledged to donate — ₱1,000 each for plantilla employees and ₱300 each for rank-and-file staff.
In lieu of holding a Christmas party this year, Lazatin’s office will channel the allocated funds to further support relief efforts for typhoon victims.
“Kasama ninyo kami sa inyong pagdadalamhati at kaisa ninyo kami sa inyong muling pagbangon,” Lazatin said.
