Converge mobilizes nationwide relief for areas hit by Typhoon Kristine

Converge ICT Solutions has activated relief efforts across the Philippines to support communities affected by severe tropical storm Kristine (international name: Trami), which brought flooding and power outages to numerous towns across Luzon.

CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy announced that Converge has transformed its business centers in heavily impacted areas, including Naga, Legazpi, Bayombong, Gapan, Candon, Vigan, and Laoag, into temporary shelters. These centers also offer free Wi-Fi, charging stations, and, in Naga, food supplies through a partnership with Ravenous Communications. “We’ve halted regular operations in these centers to prioritize shelter and relief for those affected. We are also allocating funds for further relief distribution in these regions,” said Uy.

Converge assured subscribers that repair teams have been deployed since the storm’s impact and are working to assess power requirements in affected areas. Generator sets are also being used to maintain network services until regular power is restored. As of Friday afternoon, over 70% of Converge’s network has been restored, with most business centers resuming normal operations.

The company is also assessing the needs of its workforce, offering targeted assistance to those most impacted by the storm.
