CSF hosts first rosary exhibit

For the first time in history, the City Government of San Fernando hosted a Rosary Exhibit featuring the rosaries and beadwork creations of Fernandino young artist Peter “Pedro” Yap.

The “Rosaryu ning Indu” officially opened to the public on May 15 at the SM City Pampanga, where dozens of rosaries and Marian images were displayed.

Yap is a native of Barangay San Jose and an alumnus of the City College of San Fernando. This is his first major solo exhibit, although his works have been featured in various places in the local and international scenes.

In his speech, Yap said that this undertaking is a “fulfillment of his childhood dreams and his way of deepening his devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.”

City Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag conveyed her message through San Fernando Tourism Ambassador Lorenzo Philip Caluag, that this historic exhibit is a testament to the deep and strong Fernandino faith and artistry.

Caluag commended City Tourism and Investment Promotion Officer Ching Pangilinan, for taking the lead in making the exhibit possible.

The event was also attended by City Councilor and Pyestang Fernandino 2023 Chairperson Reggie David, SM City Pampanga officials, cultural and heritage workers, and the family of Yap.

The rosary exhibit will run until May 21, 2023. (CSFP City Information Office)
