DICT SECRETARY IVAN UY RESIGNS

Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan Uy has resigned from his post, a move confirmed by Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro.

According to Castro, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has accepted Uy’s resignation. An officer-in-charge will temporarily oversee the DICT until a new secretary is appointed.

Uy, who assumed office in June 2022, played a key role in advancing the country’s digital transformation efforts. Assistant Secretary for Legal Affairs Renato Paraiso assured that DICT operations and services will remain uninterrupted despite the leadership change.

“The DICT acknowledges Secretary Uy’s invaluable contribution in accelerating digital transformation across the bureaucracy and improving the country’s ICT sector,” Paraiso said, highlighting Uy’s efforts in cybersecurity, connectivity, and inclusivity.

Under Uy’s leadership, the government introduced key digital initiatives, including the eGovPH App, eTravel, eLGU, and eReport systems.
