DILG cites MEDSA for completing three terms as mayor
City of San Fernando Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago was awarded with not just one, but four “Sertipiko ng Pagkilala” from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Pampanga on June 10, 2022.
One of the certificates recognized Santiago’s successful completion of three full terms as city mayor. It was personally handed by DILG director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia at the recently-opened Giant Lantern and Tourist Information Center.
Fabia said that “from 2013-2022, Santiago’s leadership has set a high standard of local governance and created programs that elevated the lives of Fernandino constituents.”
The director also cited Sanatiago’s effective response against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Santiago also received two certificates for the local government’s high functionality rating in eradicating illegal drugs, and, a certificate for leading in the creation of the DILG-mandated Devolution Transition Plan among fellow local government units.
Santiago toured the director at the center where the latter was able to see the city’s giant lantern making tradition showcased through arts.
Joining them were City Local Government Operations Officer Jason Veran, City Engineer Anele David, and acting City Tourism Office head Emmalyn Tuazon. (CSF CIO)
