These were among the key discussions at the 3-Day Wellness and Healthy Aging Summit led by the Department of Health (DOH) and PhilHealth and held at Royce Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone,









The summit was attended by provincial governors and Provincial Health Officers, particularly from Luzon, and was spearheaded by Health Secretary Ted Herbosa, PhilHealth President and CEO Dr. Edwin Mercado and Governors League External Vice President and Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda
The gathering aimed to strengthen the country’s healthcare system and promote wellness for all Filipinos.
Launch of PhilHealth YAKAP and GAMOT Program in Pampanga
All district hospitals in Pampanga are now “YAKAP-ready”, supporting the government’s goal of accessible and better healthcare for every citizen. PhilHealth members and their dependents can choose their preferred YAKAP clinic via:
- PhilHealth offices
- Mobile through the eGovPH app
- Member Portal at www.philhealth.gov.ph
YAKAP and GAMOT benefits for members include:
- Free health screening
- Unlimited check-ups/consultations with YAKAP doctors, including prescriptions if needed
- Laboratory tests
- Cancer screening tests
- 21 essential medicines available at YAKAP clinics
- 54 essential medicines available at GAMOT pharmacies (up to ₱20,000 per member per year)
The summit also discussed additional healthcare programs such as:

✔️ PuroKalusugan
✔️ BUCAS Centers
✔️ Medical Assistance for Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients
Through the summit, DOH hopes to foster a **healthier, stronger, and longer-living Filipino population.
