The Department of Health (DOH) reported 62,313 dengue cases from January 1 to March 1, 2025, marking a 73% increase from the same period last year. The highest number of cases were recorded in Calabarzon (12,735), the National Capital Region (11,291), and Central Luzon (10,185).
Despite the surge, the case fatality rate has dropped to 0.35% from 0.42% in 2024. The DOH urges the public and local governments to intensify mosquito control efforts before the rainy season, when cases are expected to rise.
